I love to be happy! Who doesn't? Everyone wants to be happy. But being happy doesn't always come naturally. It's a conscious decision we have to make every day. There are times when I wake up on the wrong side of the bed and the rest of my day seems to go downhill from there. From what I've seen, it all starts with one negative thought that ends in a downward spiral unless I choose to change my attitude.
On my mission I kept a blog with the purpose of helping others come unto Christ. I'm not a full time missionary any more, but I still want to get out as much good as possible into the world of media. My purpose in blogging hasn't changed, but my approach has! I will use this new blog as a positive outlet to help myself (and hopefully others) look on the brighter side of life more easily.
I love the idea of choosing joy not only today, but every day. Life is hard. It's not all butterflies and rainbows. But we can still choose to find even the smallest things that help us remember who we really are and why we are here.
One of my favorite scripture verses reads:
Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. 2 Nephi 2:25
From my 21 years of experience on this earth, I know that's true! God put us on this earth to be happy. Yes, there are times we are miserable, but we don't have to be! It's up to us to find joy in each day.
